(1990 – 1993)
Meaning Bandname: Lick A Wallsocket was one of the ever smart remarks made by popular TV personality Al Bundy (Married With Children)
Bio: Lick A Wallsocket is formed by volunteers (of the lighting group) of the Simplon Club in Groningen in 1990. Simplon at the time was an underground rockclub where punkbands like U.K. Subs, Buzzcocks and Angelic Upstarts used to play on a regular basis. All members of the band come from other bands in Groningen. Most famously drummer Dougl of De Boegies.
Description: Lick A Wallsocket was very much influenced by American punkbands like Bad Religion and Ramones. Pace was usually fast but vocals and songs were melodic. Two guitars made for a wall of sound backed up by a tight rhythm section.
Lineup:
Hein Doeglas aka Dougl – drums
